Yeah so that the subscription holders could be the beta testers and find the bugs for them.
I tried the demo and found it was even close to being worth the $180 upgrade price. And version 6 offers me nothing of value over version 5. When moving form version 9 to version 11, I had to convince Corel to give me 10 instead since 11 broke some of the features I used in 9. I can care less about "Website design software" or "Complex script support". Where is the value in that?Īlso, on occasion I have skipped versions because of bugs that were introduced and not addressed in a timely manor in the new version or Corel introduced features that were of no benefit to me. But if I go for the subscription pricing I would have to pay nearly $200 and have access to it for only one year. If I use it for 3 years, that's $60 a year. Since I qualify for the upgrade pricing, I can get X6 for $180, AND keep and use it indefinitely. But now Corel wants to charge me extra for that convenience? No F*ing way! When I pay for software, I expect to be able to own it and use it whenever I want for as long as I want. Subscription pricing is bad for the consumer on so many levels. However with this new trend towards subscription pricing I may be forced to drop Corel Draw. It's easier, less snobby and far less expensive.
I did and love it! It is professional and its free - even easier or more intuitive to use than Corel.I have been using Corel Draw since version 3 (not X3, but version 3) and one of the reasons I use Corel Draw is that it's not Adobe. If any of you feel the same way, try Inkscape. well, lot the positive stories i used to tell After being a loyal Corel customer for decades I am appalled at how easily they discard their long-term, loyal customers when those customers go out of business or retire.Ĭorel, you have lost my word-of-mouth support.
Having become a CorelDRAW expert I would like to keep using it, but as a retired person I can no longer afford the upgrades, let alone the monthly fee. I have all my previous lenience numbers, but Corel ar enot interested in helping me get X7 going again - they want me to change to 2020 and spend my pension income on a subscription instead of food etc.
I had to get Windows 10 reinstalled when my hard disk crashed and X7 did not resinstall properly - well it did, but there are authentication issues. I started with CorelDRAW version 3 and have paid for upgrades all the way through to X7. I do want to keep using it for all my private design work and for the free work I do for community groups, but i cannot afford $69 a month for that. I'm now retired and cannot justify the annual or monthly subscription fee to be able to keep using Corel. However, something went wrong with the program on one of my computers and when I contacted Corel they were only interested in trying to convince me to buy a 2020 subscription. I have CorelDRAW X7 and its associated apps and I'm fluent with it.
